Football related questions asked by the Doris
|
Lady monto caught me napping when asking what the semi-circle is, on the end of the big square on the football pitch. I don't mind admitting, I struggled to give an immediate answer, before half-heartedly suggesting it was an area that players couldn't encroach on, when a penalty is being taken.
Firstly, is that correct? (Fuck trawling through google) and does your Doris do the same to you when you're trying to watch a game?

Swedish girl I was going out with ten or so years back. Asked, after yet another soul destroying WH performance, with that impeccably practical Swedish logic:
"Why don't you pick a team to support that wins?" I support West Ham
"But why? They are not very good and they never seem to win"
They're my team, I've always supported West Ham
"You should change and support a team that wins. You'd be happier"

I normally get asked, why didn't you shout out when the other team scored Err, because that's bad and I don't normally cheer the other team Is it a cup game or league game Errrr, I don't like their kit its horrible My son and I had to ask her to leave the room after the man u replay such was our anger, after her asking how many kids played in his football team aaaaggghhhh
But I get my own back by pissing her off during Eastenders, home and away, coronation street, hollyoaks by asking why so and so has just come back into it, or where so and so has been for the last 6 months. That really does wind her up !

"Noble looks like an old man" "Something about his persona is old man" "He looks less and less like an old man for every season. Rather odd, don't you think?"

best way to describe offside rule to a bird:
in a queue for the tills at the shop. you are 2nd in line. you then realise your mate has your purse and she's 10 metres away. quickest thing to do...chuck the purse. if she chucks it, and at the point of chucking it you are still 2nd in the queue...onside.
if she's about to chuck it, and you move in front of the bird in 1st place. then she chucks it and you catch it...offside.

11 meters, rather than 10 or 12, would seem an odd choice for the distance from the penalty spot to the goal line.
So, even if they give the dimensions in meters, they are ultimately based on imperial measures.

Was in Australia for the 2002 World Cup & used to go over to my brothers place to watch all the big games. My sister in law has no interest in football so asked one question during the entire tournament during the crucial England v Brazil game after poking her head in and looking at the screen for a minute.
'Which one is Beckham?'

Had this Swedish/Croatian girlfriend. Linguerir model. 6 foot tall. Loved football. Used to get the hump if I was late back for the start of the CL games. New all the plaers in Serie A, la Liga etc...so she had an advantage there.
Those were the days...Ahhh Swiss heaven...
